Unreal experience chasing some pelagics like the Spanish Mackerel and Giant Trevally trolling the reef edges in search of new fishing grounds.

The aim was to conduct S patterns from 15 metres through to roughly 60 metres in the hopes of finding some potentially untapped jigging and bottom bashing locations.

Although we found the fish on the sounder and managed to get a few small demersals over the gunnels, they still just weren't on the chew quite as I would have liked.

As usual however, trolling those pressure points really produced the goods and demonstrated to the new lads why I am so passionate about angling our beautiful Great Barrier Reef and sustaining her for the future.

Many firsts were achieved, and there will be more trips with these boys yet to come.
