A choir from Toowoomba’s Glennie School is on its way to Europe to compete in the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival in Vienna with a song celebrating the natural beauty of Australia

The most amazing thing about the song “Spirit of Australia” is that despite its vivid descriptions of the landscape seen from the air, Brisbane composer Donna Dyson, who wrote the song while flying over North Queensland, is legally blind.

Listen to the Glennie School choir perform “Spirit of Australia” and hear the story behind the song.
