The GlamCocks, together with burners from the Black Rock City gaybourhood and friends, celebrated the 40th anniversary of Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras to the 1978 disco hit “Le Freak” by Chic. What started as a riot in June 1978 has become a defining moment in Australian LGBTQI history and a celebration of our culture. We are so proud that Australia has recently achieved marriage equality to mark this anniversary. Happy Mardi Gras!
