Cuncolim villagers expressed concerns over the blatant discharge of untreated water into their fields and water bodies around them by the fish meal and processing units at Cuncolim Industrial Estate. The issue came to light when Cuncolim villagers discovered water contaminated with waste from fish meal units flowing into the Ambaulim River. In response to the complaints of the villagers, GSPCB has suspended the operations of United Marine Products & Quality Foods at Cuncolim Industrial Estate for allegedly causing environmental pollution.
