I drove by my neighbor's house like 3y ago and noticed his two mango trees had died back to the ground from a freeze, and there was only rootstocks growing. I offered to top work his trees and he said sure. About 1.5yrs later he was eating some delicious Cogshall and Maha Chanok fruits. Now the trees are growing well, he protects them every winter by covering with cloth. I pruned the big one back for him so it would be easier to cover. The trees are growing in a very wet spot, and I've heard this negatively impacts the flavor of the Maha Chanok, but this was not the case, maybe because the soil is acidic and not alkaline like South FL?

thanks for watching.
