Today marks 4 months since Kanoon passed away, our first elephant rescue.

His stunning, gentle spirit and kind-hearted nature left an indelible mark on all of us at Unchained Elephants. In every step we take for elephant welfare, Kanoon's spirit remains our guiding light. We feel his presence, watching over us, shining through, and inspiring our mission to make a difference for all elephants.

Despite knowing he was a bull elephant and that his rescue would be a challenge, being blind in one eye and unemployed for several years, on the verge of being sent to the logging industry, the moment we found out about his situation, we knew we couldn't simply walk away. His rescue taught us a lot, and we are glad that he got to know freedom even if it were just for a few months.

Kanoon was stunning, kind, and gentle.
