Florida's Protection of Medical Conscience Act has sparked a firestorm of controversy, with proponents arguing for the protection of healthcare providers' and healthcare payors moral and religious beliefs. However, opponents assert that the law will create significant barriers to care by granting providers the ability to openly discriminate in the provision of medical services. Today we will look at the new Florida Law that will allow healthcare providers as well as employers and insurance companies to deny care as they see fit, without need for any further management or referral.
