Hi everyone and welcome back to my channel! Today I propose a video where I report my personal experience on the yarns that can be used to make necklaces with crochet.
I have tried different yarns and will always continue to experiment with new things. I will certainly update this video if I discover other yarns with which crochet necklaces can be made. In the meantime, I will immediately report my personal experience, so that it can be useful.
First I would like to talk to you about waxed cotton. I use it to make various creations, and I also tried it to make crochet necklaces. The size of the wire I used is 0.50 mm or 0.30 mm, however thin wires. As a thread it is very compact and makes the creation quite rigid, so depending on the necklace you want to create, if you want to make other crochet decorations in addition to the beads, this is the thread for you. The 0.50 mm wire can be used with beads from 3 mm upwards, while the 0.30 wire can also be used with smaller beads. I have not taken into consideration larger waxed cotton threads because the creations are too big and I do not like them aesthetically, I am speaking from thicknesses of 1 mm onwards. This thread is shiny, it is found on the market in many shades of color, but there are no shiny colors that I like as golden or silver.
Sorrento thread, what to say a great nice thread! Subtle in different shades and also very shiny. Thin thread with which soft and non-rigid necklaces can be made. You can use different diameters of beads but I would not exceed 4 mm, because the beads weigh too much and there is a risk that the thread will break with the use of the short-lived necklace.
D.M.C Diamant thread, also a very good thread, is available in different shades, even shiny, very thin for soft creations. I also consider this thread suitable for use with beads not exceeding 4 mm in thickness.
