Most of us when we purchase an old tube radio want to plug it in to electricity right away to test it.
I highly suggest not plugging it in until you test certain parts, otherwise you might damage the radio.
There are several types of radio designs that we need to identify them, before choosing the best process to test the power source.
These are some of them:
• Battery powered radios like “Farm Radio” these radios have alligator clips as you see in these pictures.
• AC radios that have Power Transformer as you see in these pictures, there are variety of sizes and shapes. These are an example of some of them.
• AC/DC radios which do not have power transformer as you see in this picture.
• Portable Radios that powered by AC/DC and battery.
