In this episode, we have with us Rakasree Basu an award-winning producer, line-producer, and international co-production consultant headquartered in Mumbai, India. She has turned a new leaf by making history with her Danish-Indian co-production, "Iqbal and the jewel of India", which happens to be the first collaborative film between India and any Nordic nation.

Rakasree initiated an independent production house called Frames Per Second Films in October 2015. Her first co-production project was the TV series "The Most Beautiful Hands of Delhi", commissioned by Swedish television and helmed by Academy Award-nominated director Hannes Holm.

Her portfolio expanded in 2018 when she line-produced the BBC travel series "Get Away for Winter". She also worked as an advisor to the Film Facilitation Office (FFO), functioning under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). Rakasree has played a very active role in drafting the guidelines for the Film Visa, an important step in enhancing India's status as a location of choice for foreign filmmakers.

Through the episode, Rakasree shares the evolving landscape of entertainment with the integration of new technologies like AI and XR, and how these advancements are reshaping the future of storytelling. She elaborates on the creative and logistical intricacies of being a producer, navigating two vastly different film cultures, and the importance of inclusive storytelling.

This conversation is a must-listen for aspiring filmmakers and anyone curious about the intersection of culture, creativity, and technology in the modern film industry.
