This virtual concert by Pt. Uday Bhawalkar was performed and recorded on the occasion of Kishore Mariwala's partner Shalini's 80th birthday.
Panditji began the presentation with a brief introduction to the concepts, and features of Dhrupad along with some misconceptions about the form as well.
He then began his recital with a sublime alap in Raag Gavati, which was followed by two beautiful bandishes entitled "Tero Hi Dhyan" and "Karam Kar Deejo" in Chautala (12 beats) and Sooltaal (10 beats) respectively.
He was supported by Sukhad Munde on pakhawaj. Tanpura support was provided by two of pandit-ji's young students Tanuja Pande and Meghana Sardar.
