Modafinil is a narcolepsy drug and a very popular nootropic. I am going to show you how to synthesize it because it is an interesting reaction. Legality depends on where you live. I did my research and it is legal for me to make as long as it is neither consumed nor sold. Modafinil is also called Provigil. It can be made from benzhydrol, chloroacetamide, sodium hydroxide, thiourea, hydrogen peroxide and glacial acetic acid. Modafinil promotes wakefullness.

If you live in the USA it is NOT allowed to do this so do not repeat anything you see here no matter where you live. In Germany Modafinil was explicitly removed from the illegal narcotics list in 2008 so I can make it legally as long as other laws are being followed.

Modafinil is a brand name which I simply used in this video. We are not really making Modafinil but only the chemical Diphenylmethyl-sulfinylacetamide which is used by the brand in their pills.
