In this latest episode of Behind Burning Man Art, we hear from Nicholas DeBruyne the creator of Archaeopteryx. Six months in the making, with an international team of artists, architects, engineers and fabricators, the artwork embodies the notion of bringing people together. By day, the artwork sits delicately in the dusty landscape; by night it takes flight with projection mapping lights adorning its wings. While 2020 won’t see us physically come together on Playa, Archaeopteryx is a symbol of all things Burning Man – a community of creators, making experiences for all. Enjoy.
