After a long time, I had the opportunity to reconnect with Turismo Internacional at a racetrack, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a well-populated grid of cars.

Initially, this category was managed by the CDA of the Automóvil Club Argentino. However, after a significant drop in participation during the 2014 season, it was decided to transfer it to the Federación Metropolitana de Automovilismo Deportivo (now working together with the ACTC), thus losing its status as a national category and moving to a regional scope.

Today, the category features two classes: Class 2 and Super. In Class 2, vehicles such as Ford Fiesta, Chevrolet Corsa, and Renault Clio are authorized, powered by their own 1.6 engines. On the other hand, in the Super Class, you can see high-volume production cars that were or are available to the public through the dealership network of an automaker. Thus, in the top class, we find very interesting brands considering we are talking about a regional category. We can see cars like Audi A4 and TT, BMW M3, F30, E36, E46, and E90, and Mercedes-Benz C200 and C280, powered by a variety of engines ranging from 5 and 6-cylinder inline to V6.
