2014 Jaguar XJL 5.0 Supercharged
5.0L V8
470hp /424 lb-ft

At 206 and a half inches long the Jaguar XJL is twice the length of a smart car. This results in an enormous cabin draped in all the luxury of a four seasons hotel. But this isn’t an ordinary XJL. See under the hood of this beast lies a 5L supercharged V8 pumping out 470hp and 424 lb ft of torque. Mated with a ZF 8 speed automatic the feline rockets to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

Power is sent to the rear meaning this limousine is just as capable of lighting up the rear tires in a heroic burnout as it is escorting you to the Parisian Opera house.

Inside you are greeted with absolutely stunning wraparound wood trim. Piano black accents and chrome pieces liven up the interior as well. Even the seats are unique in the jag, with white piping and of course heated and cooled functionality. For $800 you can even be massaged while you drive. By the seats that is.

In the rear leg room is tremendous. 44.1 inches to be exact. This is enough to create a private jet like experience for anyone shorter than Yao Ming. Those hunting for the ultimate interior experience should opt for the premium rear seat package. Not fitted on this car, it provides the Jag with reclining rear seats, power sun blinds, tray tables and 10.2 inch LCD screens.

The optional Meridian Surround system is incredible. 20 speakers and 825 watts of pure auditory bliss. For the most discerning audiophile you can get the 26 speaker Meridian Reference system which is surely phenomenal.

But this jag isn't only about looks and comfort. It’s ferocious. The 5L V8 produces an epic soundtrack and violently surges you forward with confidence. Mashing the loud pedal at under 25 mph spins the tires every time, but when it hooks, it is FAST. Press the dynamic ride control button and the instrument cluster even lights up in red.

Because of the extensive use of aluminum in its construction, the Jaguar is significantly lighter than its counterparts. 4,150 lbs is lighter than a Mercedes E550. This means better handling, better fuel economy, and a more exciting driving experience.

Steering wheel mounted paddles add the the fun as you flick through all 8 gears and unleash a flurry of angry sounds upon downshifts. This Jag is seriously fun to drive.

The boot of the XJL is enormous and in fact you can fit 7 live jaguars in the back. We weren’t able to capture that on film as our camera man suffered a tragic attack.

Opening the doors of the Jaguar XJL is like checking in at the Ritz London. I’ve spent time in both and the hotel doesn’t launch you to 60mph in under 5 seconds. It’s extremely quick, its incredibly luxurious, and its nimble and fun to drive. It makes a thundering racket out the tail pipes and put a smile on our faces the whole day. The Jaguar XJL supercharged is unbelievable!

Special thanks to Jaguar of Novi Michigan.
