Kane is a Dutch rock band formed in 1998 in The Hague by Dinand Woesthoff (lead vocals) and Dennis van Leeuwen (guitar). The two met while working at a café and bonded over their mutual passion for music, leading them to create a band and begin performing for small audiences.

Their breakthrough came in 1999 with the release of the song "Where Do I Go Now." The following year, they released their debut album, As Long as You Want This, which achieved double platinum status. This success continued with the release of So Glad You Made It in 2001 and What If in 2003.

In 2004, Woesthoff's wife, Guusje Nederhorst, passed away from breast cancer. He dedicated the song "Dreamer" to her, which became the best-selling Dutch single that year. Despite this personal tragedy, the band continued to produce music, releasing Fearless in 2005, Everything You Want in 2008, No Surrender in 2009, and Come Together in 2012.

Kane disbanded in December 2014 but announced in September 2023 that they would be reuniting in 2024. Throughout their career, Kane released seven studio albums, five live albums, and one compilation album. As of 2024, the band consists of its original members, Dinand Woesthoff and Dennis van Leeuwen.
