Every spring, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, when the south winds get blowing, it's time to get rolling! The seasonal red drum migration along the Outer Banks traditionally takes place in April as the south winds warm the water and push fish against the shore. If an angler times it just right, they can experience epic fishing at a storied location that's known world-wide as a fishing haven. We were watching the winds and water temps for a couple weeks and made a last-minute decision to make a 3 hour ride to Buxton, N.C., in the hopes that we'd hit the spring run just right.
