The Bouvier des Flandres is a herding dog breed from Belgium. Bouviers as they're often called are a large breed with males ranging in size from seventy-five to ninety-five pounds. They were originally used for general farm work including cattle droving, sheep herding, and cart pulling, and nowadays as guard dogs and police dogs, as well as being kept as pets. The French name of the breed means, literally, "Cow Herder of Flanders", referring to the Flemish origin of the breed.

Pilar Kuhn and her husband Rod have owned LaChinson Bouviers for twenty years and are true advocates for the breed. They are responsible for breeding some of the finest Bouviers in the world.
