Today I took a quick trip to Nelson Ghost Town in Eldorado Canyon, Nevada about 35 minutes outside of Las Vegas. Nelson is in the mountains above the Colorado River geographically between Laughlin, Nevada and Boulder City, Nevada. It's a really cool ghost town that is now a little site seeing town with mine tours and alot of stuff to look at. It's a great place to go to learn about the local area and the history of the Nevada Desert.

The Ghost Town is owned by a family and has been since 1994, so when you go, remember that you are on private property so respect their rules and requests. Nelson Ghost Town is a great day trip from Las Vegas to see something besides casinos and bars. There is no gas or food - besides snacks to buy in the main building - so remember that before you head out there.

*EDIT: I say 100 Miles To Graceland with Nicholas Cage (twice), but it is actually the movie with Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner that I am referring too.
