Campground Review: Gunter Hill Park
COVID-19: This video is part of our journey from Oregon to Florida in 2019. Check Recreation.gov for closure status. Many RV parks are closed during this time.
We stayed at Gunter Hill Park near Montgomery, Alabama. Gunter Hill Park is a large Army Corps of Engineers park. It is located along the shores of the Alabama River. We visited this park in late November and were treated with colorful tree reflective waterviews, birds, and wildlife. There is a lot to love about this park, but what we really love about this park and our site is the sewer hook-up!
What we love about Gunter Hill Park:
1. Sewer hook-up right at the campsite.
2. Large, deep campsites
3. Waterfront, water view, and wooded sites
4. Wooded trail
5. Plenty of roads to bike, walk, or run
6. Wildlife
7. Close to stores
8. Beautiful kayaking opportunities
9. Verizon service worked most of the time especially for talking and texting
What we don't love about Gunter Hill Park:
1. Verizon streaming was spotty.
