Discus become afraid for many reasons.
Something spooked them, or a new import, or they are sick, or your lights or canopy/lid can make them scared.
Sometimes their tank can be too open and exposed, or they have a tank mate they don't like, or your current flow can be too strong.

They are very smart and their intelligence is their dependence for survival in nature because they don't have self defence poison, spikes or any weapons.

Their good senses, their wits and their quick evasion are their tools fof survival and explains their easy display of fear or intelligent interaction.

Discus communicate with each other and their owners all the time.

Now that we domesticate them, we can benefit from these features of discus. But we must protect them also.

This video is based on the sole experience of Divana herself and she simply shares it with you all.

Divana aims to make unique videos to help everyone understand her favourite animal better and to Honour God's Creation the way it was meant to be. Either peaceful in the wild, or responsible in captivity.

I hope you learnt something new.

Much Love,
Divana.
