The Cream Midge Larva, it's a no-frills, nothing special fly. A white abdomen and a black thorax make for an incredible fish catching machine year-round on Colorado tailwaters and freestones in late fall through early spring. You can crank them out by the hundreds with white thread and a black sharpie, but I got sick of the same old, so I dressed it up just a touch for our local Animas River.
Tie a few of these up next time you head to your local tailwater and see what the trout think.
