This tutorial covers the Fail-Passive Option for the NGX, the option my operator has for its entire fleet. This allows us to fly to CATIIIA minima to a DA(H) of no less than 50ft RA and an RVR of 200m followed by an Autoland.

In this tutorial we’ll go through the different category ILS approaches, step through the setup, the operational impact of landing in low visibility and I’ll give you detailed guidance of the Automatic Landing system and flying an ILS Approach to CAT III minima.

As I always stress my tutorials contain just one way of operating the PMDG NGX based on my 4000 hours experience and what I teach during Type Ratings. Other operators and tutorials might show you a different procedure or setup based on different operating procedures.
