Began in a small vocal group consisted of ten students, coached by Mr. Temmy, the Alsebaya Choir wasn’t formed at that time. They kept practicing singing as a vocal group. Until in April 2014, this vocal group was invited to be backing singers for Opick (a religious singer) at the event of Al Azhar anniversary. Opick and Many people admired the vocal group performance. They started to perform in some school occasions. Many students were interested in joining this vocal group. With the increasing numbers of group members, the coach initiated to make a choir team. Then, they practice some choir songs. They also tried to participate in some competitions, local, national, and even international ones and they take ALSEBAYA Choir (represents SD Islam Al Azhar 11 Surabaya) as the name of the choir team.
