One of Ireland’s most haunted homes, and reputedly Europe’s most haunted castle - Leap Castle in county Offaly has a dark and turbulent history, fueled by jealousy, greed, murder and betrayal.

The castle is said to rest on ley lines and ancient druidic ceremonies also once took place here, so Leap certainly has all the necessary ingredients for a rich, supernatural stew. More than a dozen spirits may cohabit with the Ryan family, who are quite content with it all.

I visited the castle in August 2024 and in this video, I will recount some of the stories that have been told about this iconic location.

Interestingly, my new camera malfunctioned during my visit, so I did not capture as much footage of my visit as I thought. I also had a cold when I was recording the narration track, but still, I hope you enjoy the video!
