Nasal congestion can be common in babies and small children specially with allergy season approaching. Being stuffy can not only make them really uncomfortable but it can also affect their feeding and sleeping. Since nasal decongestants are not recommended for small children, here are some tips to help clear up baby’s congestion and keep them comfortable:

🛀🏻Run a hot shower and let baby breathe in the steam for at least 15 minutes. This will help loosen mucus and also relaxes baby

🚿For extra dry mucus use a saline spray to moisten nostrils again. Apply 2-3 sprays to each nostril

🤧Use a snotsucker to suck out boogies, don’t worry it has a filter at the end and it actually works pretty well because it creates good suction

🤧If the snot sucker is not for you use an electric nasal aspirator. We like this one because the light distracts baby and it comes with 2 tips for babies and older children. I don’t really recommend the rubber suction bulbs because there’s no really way to actually clean the inside!

🤧When there is any hard to reach boogies this tool by @fridababy is designed to reach inside baby's small nostrils

💨Use a cold mist humidifier to keep baby’s nasal passages moistened throughout the night and help them breath easier

🤒If you’re worried about your babys stuffy nose and their general comfort, or its accompanied by other worrisome symptoms reach out to their healthcare provider!
