Nagano Prefecture, also known as "Shinshu," is the prefecture with the highest healthy life expectancy in Japan and has been ranked No. 1 for 14 consecutive years in the ranking of prefectures to which people want to move!

Accessibility is not great, but it is not too far away. If you fly, you can fly to Shinshu Matsumoto Airport and take a bus from there to Nagano City in one and a half hours. If you take the Hokuriku Shinkansen, you can get there in about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Tokyo. Nagano, which I thought was too far away and out of reach, was surprisingly cosmopolitan and more accessible than I had expected!

There are plenty of experiences that will blow away the heat, from the cool and spectacular scenery that you should visit at least once in your life, to the best gourmet food and midsummer traditions.
