Hello, it's Thursday! Today I'm going to show you how to make an amigurumi guardian for the year to come - it's the Chinese Year of the Lucky Metal Ox! Chinese new year isn't until February, but that leave you plenty of time to crochet yourself lots of lucky bulls to help navigate 2021.

US terminology used
All pieces are worked in a continuous spiral.

I've used abbreviated annotation in the video for several rows of the head. Here are the expanded rows to help if you aren't comfortable with nested brackets:

R5 shown as: 2{sc,2[inc, 2sc]}
R5 simplified: sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 3sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 2sc (18)

R7 shown as: 2{2[2sc, inc], 3sc}
R7 simplified: 2sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 5sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 3sc (22)

Stitch Glossary:
ch: “Chain” - yarn over, pull through only loop.
sc: “Single crochet” - Insert hook, yarn over, pull up loop, yarn over, pull through both loops on hook.
inc: “Increase” - Complete two single crochets into the same stitch, one after the other.
dec: “Decrease over two stitches”- Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull up loop. Insert hook into next stitch, yarn over, pull up loop. Yarn over a third time, and pull through all three loops on hook.

Pattern notation
x[…] Repeat the instructions between the square brackets ‘x’ times.
(…) The total numbers of stitches in the row/round
