To get the machine in tip top condition. You have to clean the internal and moving parts of the machine which over the years would have a built up with dried oil, lint, dust etc commonly know as a "gummed up machine" this makes the machine not run well or how it should and can cause it to freeze up. The most effective way is to remove all the cover plates and using kerosene/paraffin and scrub the internal workings of the machine and flush out oil ways. This breaks down the "gummed" parts and removes all the crud and dirt which drips off the machine. Then the machine is ready to be oiled correctly (Number 4. next video).
