Washington, D.C. is known as the home of awesome monuments and center of our federal government. But for those who travel to visit the area, it is also known as the home of many prominent and fascinating museums. In particular, about 20 Smithsonian museums (and the Smithsonian National Zoo) all call the capital city of the United States home. And the best part is all of these Smithsonian museums are free to the public! We haven't been to all the Smithsonian museums (yet). But in this video, we take you along and show you just a few of the highlights of the most recent one we visited - the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. This museum had exhibits that tell the story of America's military history, political history and cultural history. You can see America's oldest surviving fighting vessel, the personal effects of a number of former Presidents, and even a couple of famous droids from the Star Wars films. Visiting the Smithsonian Museums is the BEST free activity in Washington, D.C. Watch this video to find out why!
