The first-ever urban local body election with 33 per cent reservation for women was conducted in Nagaland state on June 26, 2024.

The Urban Local Bodies elections in Dimapur were held covering a total of 23 wards with 118 polling stations from the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and 7 ward with 11 polling stations from the East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC). The DMC has 60,281 registered voters, while the EDTC has 10,245 voters.

Chümoukedima Town Council poll day was carried out in all the 24 polling Stations under 11 wards. A total of 16127 electors turned out to cast their votes, out of which 7815 were Male and 8312 Female.
