Drove over today to Marion NC with Carrie Lynn. Took supplies and gasoline. We drove up Buck Creek and were able to meet a few people who shared their stories with us and we were able to help them out in a small way.

We drove Buck Creek up as far as we could. As we got near the mountain top crews were still working to clear the road and power lines. This once was a beautiful mountain pass drive

This area has been absolutely destroyed. We dropped off the remaining supplies in Marion. It will take years for WNC to recover from this. The landscape has been changed forever.

I can only imagine what the rest of the area must look like. We will be making trips back to try and help with clean up down the road.
