"Music for Elevators" is a project by Elevate Festival that explores the intersection of sound and space. The concept behind this project is to transform the often-overlooked experience of riding an elevator into a sonic journey.

The sound installation "Music for Elevators" – which had become a tradition at Elevate – once again made the Schlossberg lift resound that year. That year, the Viennese musician and long-time companion of the festival Dorian Concept created the fourth installation in total. After the festival, the elevator music continued to make the journey in the Schlossbergstollen a special experience for the rest of the year.

The "Music for Elevators" series launched in 2020 around the Finnish artist Jimi Tenor. Both cabins of the Schlossberg lift will be filled with specially created compositions by artists. Since 2020 the Schlossberg elevator music was created by Jimi Tenor, Brian Eno and Caterina Barbieri.
