Hey friends! BIG DISCLAIMER: this is not comprehensive by any means, this does not serve the purpose of diagnosis and should not impact your treatment (I am not yet a doctor!!! Read it again!) Please reach out to your doctor for medical advice.

In this video, I talk about my biggest tips for the pediatrics rotation including how to start taking histories on babies and small children. Taking a thorough history is important in all fields of medicine, but is particularly challenging when your patient cannot talk (such as babies!). I focus a lot on the newborn exam and specific things you should start thinking of as you enter a pediatrics, newborn nursery, or NICU rotation. I also talk about how to approach the baby exam, what special exam maneuvers you might use frequently, and some helpful things as you move into your pediatrics clerkship (like how to change a diaper and swaddle a baby!).

Let me know if I can answer any specific questions!
