People of the high mountains have traditionally gathered plants and herbs from the wild, which would then be carefully stored and consumed in winter. Most of this collection is for personal use and never for commercial purposes. In this story, Karma Sonam of Gya village of Ladakh tells us about the traditional technique for collection and storage of zatsod or stinging nettle. He also shares a recipe of zatsod thukpa.
