"Akshardham Temple in Delhi, (अक्षरधाम मंदिर दिल्ली) also known as Swaminarayan Mandir, is one of the largest Hindu temples in the world. Located in Delhi, this beautiful temple is famous for its evening water and fountain show, held every day at 8 PM, except on Mondays. The temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Swaminarayan (1781-1830) and honors the avatars, devas, and great sages of Hinduism.

The heart of the Swaminarayan Akshardham complex is the main temple, which was inaugurated on November 6, 2005. The temple is an architectural marvel, featuring 234 intricately carved pillars, 9 ornate domes, 20 towering spires, and 20,000 statues of important figures in Hinduism. The temple itself stands 141.3 feet tall, 316 feet wide, and 356 feet long.

Entry to the Akshardham Temple is free and open to everyone. The temple is open from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with aarti (prayer) timings at 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. The temple complex is divided into four main areas, one of which is an exhibition section that requires a paid ticket, available on a first-come, first-served basis. The evening water show, which is also ticketed, is a major attraction.

Swaminarayan Akshardham is not just a temple but a spiritual and cultural campus showcasing thousands of years of Hindu culture, spirituality, and architecture. It is located near the border with Noida and was inspired by Yogiji Maharaj. It was created by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, and construction was carried out by BAPS.
