Welcome back to NHL Goalie breakdowns presented by MAP South Goaltending. Thank you for the support and if you missed any of our previous installments, they are posted on our Instagram account and YouTube channel. This week we will be focusing on one of the premier goalies in the league: Carey Price.

Price has been the gold standard for goaltending for the over a decade. Since he broke onto the scene as a 5th overall pick (2005 Draft), he has been looked at as the model for how a goalie should play the position. Like Vasilevskiy in last week’s breakdown he has all the tools and houses them in a near perfect toolbox. There isn’t a definitive weakness in his game. He receives plus grading in all four areas of goaltending: technical, tactical, athleticism, mental. One of the things to pay attention to is how quiet his game is, he is rarely out of control even in difficult situations. He looks born to play the position.

And his resume speaks for itself:
- World Junior Championship Gold Medal
- Olympic and World Cup Gold Medalist
- Calder Cup Champion and Playoff MVP (AHL)
- Vezina Trophy
- 7x NHL All-Star
- All-Rookie Team

Please leave your comments, questions, and feedback on this week's video to stimulate the conversation and be sure to think critically in identifying how you can apply some of Price's game to aid yours.
