Note: I found this Mustang with the same Tire Rack Rims I have on my Sienna Minivan! Who wore it better?!

When you order tires from www.tirerack.com, this is how they are shipped. I was really curious if everything would arrive undamaged. Luckily it worked out. I paid $196 for shipping 4 tires mounted on aluminum rims. That's a big shipping cost, but i think of it as their charge to mount and balance the tires, which they say is "free". The delivery driver dropped one of the wheels when he was walking up to the house, but there was no damage. After mounting, everything seems to be free of vibration and working well.

Unfortunately, this only saves you money the first time you do it. Obviously, they can't mount new tires on old rims, so you're stuck paying whatever your tire shop charges for mount and balance the next time you need tires. I ordered this winter set without TPMS, so i'm curious if a tire shop will mount new tires without TPMS for me next time around. I've read that they aren't allowed install tires without the sensors on cars equipped with them. we shall see.
