There is an election for posts of District Councillor, Head, Sarpanch (Chairman of Gram panchayat) , Building Department Clerk (Nirman Vibhaag clerk), Panchayat Samiti, Ward Member (Ward sadasya) and Panch.

Head of Panchayat Samiti (Panchayat Samiti Pramukh Salary): Rs.10,000 per month
Deputy Chairman Panchayat Samiti (Panchayat Samiti up-pramukh): Rs. 5,000 per month
Head (Mukhiya Salary in BIhar): Rs. 2,500 per month
Deputy Head Salary in Bihar (Up-mukhiya): Rs. 1,200 per month

Deputy Sarpanch Salary: Rs. 1,200 per month
District council member (Salary of Zilla parishad sadasya in Bihar): Rs. 2,500 per month

The government has also made a provision of giving Rs 5 lacs to the family members on death of these Panchayat representatives.
