Whistleblower allegations against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s ties to China have caused the House Oversight Committee to take action.

On Monday, the Committee subpoenaed the Department of Homeland Security after an internal employee group chat raised “serious concerns” about Walz.

The concerns related to Walz’s ties to China with some even being documented in classified files, according to the New York Post.

Oversight Panel Chairman James Comer revealed Walz’s “longstanding connection” with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Comer penned a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas revealing Walz’s ties, according to a copy obtained by the Post.

“Specifically, through whistleblower disclosures, the Committee has learned of a non-classified, Microsoft Teams group chat among DHS employees - titled ‘NST NFT Bi-Weekly Sync’ - that contains information about Governor Walz that is relevant to the Committee’s investigation,” Comer wrote.

According to an oversight spokesperson, the initials in the chat stand for “Nation State Threat - National Functional Team”.
