Hummel Concerto on B flat Rotary Trumpet.
Recap of 1st mvt.

The Hummel (played in E flat) sits nicely on the rotary B flat. More romantic, expressive and lyrical than the Haydn, the sound of the B flat suits the concerto well.

The Haydn, Hummel (in E flat) and Neruda concertos are fun and effective pieces to play on the rotary B flat, even if only for practice in order to get used to the unique characteristics of the horn.

Bonus! They are much easier to play on rotary than piston B flat (trills and upper register especially) and offer a richer, bigger sound than the E flat. Knowing and practicing these works on B flat will help enhance the tone you will achieve on E flat trumpet.
