Some COVID-19 patients are experiencing acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and require mechanical ventilation. While a patient is on a ventilator, Rush staff use a technique called “prone positioning” to improve oxygenation. Rush has developed a four-phase checklist to facilitate the process of placing a patient into the prone position.
