Couldn't get to Commodity Classic? Bern Tobin takes you on an up-close and personal tour of the new 9Rx model in this video! What do you think of this beast?

The jewel in the 2025 John Deere lineup crown was unveiled at Commodity Classic at Houston, Texas, this week.

The new 9Rx line up available with 710, 770, or 830 horsepower, four tracks and heaps of new features turned heads and had the whole crowd talking. Our own Bern Tobin was at the John Deere both to take a tour of the new beast.

Michael Porter, the go-to-market manager for the John Deere tractor line says that this new line up is a from-the-ground-up redesign. The three high-horsepower four-track models include the 9RX 710, the 9RX 770 and the 9RX 830.

For the first time, John Deere has moved its JD18 engine from John Deere Power Systems into a tractor line. This Final Tier 4/Stage V-compliant 18-litre engine meets emissions requirements using exhaust-gas recirculation technology, eliminating the need for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), and potentially saving farmers the cost of hundreds of gallons of DEF per season, he says.

In combination with the new engine, an optional, new 168-GPM triple-pump hydraulic system gives farmers the confidence to pull wider and heavier air-seeding trains over the ground while maintaining tractor and fan speed.

Porter says that beyond four-tracks and big engines, each of the new models offer an autonomous-ready option, allowing farmers to easily switch to fully autonomous operation when it’s right for their own farm.

“The autonomous-ready package offers all the hardware, software and safety features that we know today will be required for autonomous operation in the future,” he says.

The new 9RX models offer the G5Plus CommandCenter Display and Integrated StarFireTM 7500 receiver standard with an optional G5 Advanced technology package with SF-RTK.

All of the high-horsepower 9RX models will be available for order starting later this month. Additional model-year updates are available for 7 and 8 Series tractors, John Deere says.
