Today we visited a ruined church. St Mary's in Clophill. This church is very unusual indeed. Firstly it's not aligned due east/west and in the 1960's satanic rituals were carried out here and bodies were exhumed making it necessary to move all the grave stones around the perimeter of the graveyard so they wouldn't serve as markers for where the bodies laid. Built around 1350, just after the plague, it still served as the parish church until a new one was built in the nineteenth century.
