In the 2.0 Mod, after completing a level, you unlock Character Select.

It lets you pick characters who could've been in the area after Chapter 4 was completed but before the next level starts. You can use this to explore the Hub, collect remaining collectables and play Sub-Missions as any character available.

Disclaimer: This game has always been finicky on different computers, so with a mod that pushes the game as much as this, there's bound to be some issues that happen for some and not others. If anyone experiences any issue of any kind, check the KnownIssues.txt file in Documents, and then let me know about it so I can make note of it for future updates.
