DIY. Plastic windows - insulation of windows with your own hands. A simple and inexpensive way to warm your house via insulation of plactic windows (and other types of windows)

You can make new windows yourself, with your own hands!

If you feel drafts at home and don’t know how to deal with them, use this method and you will feel how it will immediately become warmer and more comfortable in your house! This method will allow you to get rid of crying windows (drops and haze on the glass).
I pull the cellophane film onto the frame from the mosquito net (after removing the mosquito net canvas itself). You can also buy a collapsible mosquito net kit in a hardware store (for example Leroy Merlen), but instead of the attached mosquito net, you can pull / stretch the cellophane film. The cellophane film should be taken as transparent as possible (without distortion defects) and a thickness of it should be about 150-200 (not very thick). The most important criterion is maximum transparency and no distortion.

The essence of this method of house / window insulation is that we limit the contact of external (cold) air from the street with the outside glass of our window. The glass does not cool so fast because between the glassitself and the cold street there is a “protection” provided by the cellophane film, which prevents the direct contact of the cold air with the glass, and also the wind does not “blow out” a warm layer of air (which leaves the house).

Please note that if you have gaps / cracks in the window with such a design, this will lead to the fact that the warm air leaving the house will fall on the street cellophane film and "get condensed". This will lead to fogging of the film and condensation on the film, as well as to "opacity" of visibility from the window. This is an INCORRECT situation, which will leads to the formation of fungus in the future (during warming). To avoid this, simply eliminate all gaps/cracks in the windows. If this task is performed correctly, you should not have condensation formed on the film and the film should not fog up.

Question 1: How to ventilate the room / the house? -
Answer 1: You will find the answer starting at 6:25 minutes of the video.

Question 2: How much warmer will it become due to this design?
Answer 2: It will help to increase your temperature by 1.5-2 degrees (watch the video to the end). It will laso depend on the difference of temperatures between your street and your house
