Healthcare has long had a code of silence, where employees are expected to fall in line and not discuss what happens within its walls with the general public. But What happens if you do speak out? Recently Katie Duke, a Nurse Practitioner with an impressive social media following wrote an article that highlighted just how difficult it can be to remain employed in healthcare if you dare speak out about the systems currently in place. Today we share our own stories of what happens when you speak out as a healthcare workers, how it can lead to problems with not only your job as a nurse, but with your nursing license as well. We'll also share tips for navigating the system if you DO want to speak up about the ongoing problems that are present in our healthcare system.
