Starting our getaway to Fontainebleau in the castle park is obvious. We could have remained seated there contemplating the conflagration of the gardens or the spectacle of nature preparing for winter. But our curiosity pushes us to follow, under the trees, the footsteps of Frédéric, one of the park's gardeners.
In this small basin is a spring. The little story says that it was a dog of King Saint-Louis named "Bleau" who discovered the fountain. The legend was born. The castle and its large parterre drawn with a line leave its place at the end of the park to the immensity of the forest. Nearly 25,000 hectares as far as the eye can see, trees tight against each other and which sometimes let a ray of light pierce through.
