Today, we're going on a trip from Cape Town to Kruger National Park. We'll fly to Johannesburg, which takes about 2 hours. Then, we'll get a rental car and drive to the park. We're at the Johannesburg Airport picking up our reserved car from Avis. It's smart to book ahead for the car you want. We booked yesterday, so there aren't many choices left. We'd prefer a 4x4 for the park, but they're not available now.

We're excited to explore Kruger National Park. Our 3-year-old son is excited too! We started early and did paperwork for the car. Our destination is Ngwenya Lodge, around 450 kilometers away. It might take 5-6 hours, depending on breaks and traffic. We're staying there for two weeks after being in Mabula Game Reserve and Cape Town.

We're driving on well-kept highways with great scenery. It's safer to drive during the day. We're on the N12 highway, soon merging onto the N4 highway. South Africa's wildlife and landscapes are our reasons for visiting.

We started at 5 AM for our morning flight. Our son is energetic despite spending lots of time in the car. We've driven an hour, gone 72 kilometers, and stopped for a break at Total Energies Petroport fuel station. We had a longer break, so we're behind schedule to reach Ngwenya Lodge.

We're driving on the N12 highway, needing to stay under 120 km/hr. The toll highway takes us through towns, fields, and hills. We need to pay tolls with cash due to a tag issue.

Another break at a Cartex fuel station with Steers restaurant. We're behind schedule due to the lake view. We've covered 219 kilometers and taken a 45-minute break. We'll likely arrive at Ngwenya Lodge by 8:30 PM.

It's getting dark, which isn't ideal near the wild Kruger National Park. We took a chance driving late. There's little traffic, and the highway is good. For a Kruger trip, start early from Johannesburg.

We're close to Ngwenya Lodge, near the Crocodile Bridge gate, an entrance to Kruger National Park. We got our villa keys by the Crocodile River, across from the park. In the next vlog, we'll show you around and share our Kruger experiences. Stay tuned!

The distance between Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International Airport and Ngwenya Lodge ,Farm Whisky in Komatipoort is approximately 430 kilometers (267 miles), and the journey takes around 4.5 to 5 hours by car, depending on traffic and road conditions. Here's a suggested route:
* Head southeast on O R Tambo Airport Rd/R21 toward Exit 41.
* Merge onto R21 via the ramp to Boksburg.
* Take exit 429A to merge onto N12 toward Witbank.
* Continue onto N4 (Toll road).
* Continue straight to stay on N4 (Partial toll road).
* Take exit 34 for R570 toward Malelane/Komatipoort.
* Turn right onto R570 (signs for Komatipoort) (Partial toll road).
* Continue on this road until you reach Farm Whisky on Tenbosch Rd in Komatipoort.
Please note that road conditions and traffic can vary, so it's always a good idea to check for real-time updates before your journey. Additionally, make sure your vehicle is in good condition for the trip, and consider fuel, rest stops, and any other necessities along the way.

Distance between Ngwenya Lodge, Farm Whisky, Tenbosch Rd, Komatipoort, 1340, South Africa
and Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp, Kruger National Park, Gomondwane Rd, 1350, South Africa
is (10.9 km) via R571 .
