Welcome to the channel of Ensemble Dialoghi!

Here we would like to propose and explore different (and maybe unusual) points of view about the perception and transmission of emotions in music.

Diving into 18th and 19th century European society, examining its cultural life and events, history, politics, etc., we’ll focus on the music world, seeking for the emotional tools used by our predecessors in order to deliver the best musical message : declamation, rhetoric, metric, phrasing, and many more, with special focus on commedia dell’arte, theatre, opera buffa, opera seria, and the links between theatrical gestures and the instrumental repertoire of the Classical and Romantic period.
